Real Weddings – Adam & Maddie

Thank you for being such an amazing celebrant! I absolutely loved the way you put our ceremony together making it very personal to Adam and I. Listening to you share memories of our relationship so far made it so special. Your communication and organisation in the months leading up and on the day of our wedding was fantastic. Even in the pouring rain you made our ceremony so perfect and a day that we will never forget. Thank you for being a part of the best day of our lives!

I knew from the moment I first met with Maddie and Adam over a few drinks at the local tavern that they would have a memorable wedding, and how true that would turn out to be. Not even a severe storm cell could stop these two from saying “I do”

It’s safe to say that the love story between Maddie (a primary school teacher) and Adam (a plumber) took a few months to ignite. In fact, they met on several occasions before finally plucking up the courage to speak. A normally quite reserved Adam recalls opening with a very succinct compliment – “You’re cute”, to which Maddie unceremoniously responded “Righto footy boy!” (*or words to that effect!)

Now one could easily think that this could mark the end, but there was an undeniable spark and banter that had been brewing between these two and Maddie finally gave in and agreed to go on their first date the following weekend, a good nine months after their intial meeting.

With every word and every action between these two it is clear that Maddie has since fallen madly and deeply for Adam’s ‘footy boy’ charms and Adam has proven to be the calm to Maddie’s storm. The love they share is almost palpable. After years of building the foundations of their future together, Adam provided Maddie the ultimate surprise by proposing to her in front of her class of year 3 students. There was no way she was saying anything but YES!

Maddie and Adam chose Hastings Point Lookout in Northern New South Wales as the location for their ceremony. However, despite blue skies in the morning, just as the blushing bride arrived to her wedding, so too did the storm clouds and wow didn’t they pack a punch! For the safety and comfort of everyone involved, the decision was made to delay the ceremony until the worst passed. After a small wait, during a lull in storm cells, it was all systems go and Adam and Maddie finally shared their personal vows in order to become husband and wife.

All I can say is that it was certainly worth the wait and that nothing, not even a storm could wipe the smiles off our happy couples faces. Kudos to their epic bridal party for manning the umbrellas so perfectly keeping everyone (apart from the celebrant!) dry.

Now a little birdie tells me that despite the rain, these two know how to throw one heck of a reception. Back in the warmth of Babalou in Kingscliff these two continued celebrating amongst a group of close friends, colleagues and loved ones. From what I have been told, and what I have seen there were some epic dance moves, and lots and lots of belly splitting laughter shared by everyone present. This was undeniably a wedding to remember.
